Guidance:
Mount Saint Vincent University is hosting a “STEM aware” session on Tuesday November 5th.  The session will  allow youth to meet with Mount Saint Vincent BSc graduates currently working in STEM fields and learn about careers available to youth.  If interested in more information, please see the poster in Student Services or e-mail Sally at WISEatlantic@MSVU.ca.  The session will take place at Mount Saint Vincent


Holland College is hosting a campus tour event on Friday November 8th from 1pm to 4pm.  Please visit the Holland College website for more information.


A representative from Saint Francis Xavier University (Saint of X) will be coming to Auburn on Tuesday November 12th at 12:05pm to speak with students about their institution, programs and admissions.  If interested in attending this information session, please sign up in Student Services. 


A representative from Student Assistance (Student Loan) NS will be coming to Auburn on Thursday November 14th at 11am to speak with students about student loans, including when and how to apply for them.  Lunch will be provided for this session.  If interested in attending this information session, please sign up in Student Services. 


The Comprehensive Guidance and Counselling Program will be taking 30 students to the IWK Health Care Career Day on Wednesday November 6th from 9:25am to 12:05pm.  If you are interested in attending this field trip, please sign up in Student Services and get a permission slip from your School Counsellor.  There is a limit of 30 students for this trip but we ask students on the waitlist to have the permission form signed so that they are ready to go if there is a student absent on the day of the trip.  The cost of the field trip is $5.00, and this is to help with the cost of bussing.


A representative from the Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education will be at Auburn on Friday November 1st to speak to students about their program.  Please stop by the information booth if you have any questions!


A representative from the University of New Brunswick will be coming to Auburn on Wednesday November 27th at 12:05pm to speak with students about their institution, programs and admissions.  If you would like to attend the session, please sign up in Student Services.


A representative from the McGill University will be coming to Auburn on TODAY at 1:30pm to speak with students about their institution, programs and admissions.  If you would like to attend the session, you must sign up in Student Services by Thursday October 24th.

A representative from Saint Mary’s University will be coming to Auburn on TODAY at 12:05pm to speak with students about their institution, programs and admissions.  They are offering FREE on-the-spot admissions to students interested in applying.  If you would like to apply, you must bring a transcript to the information session.  To order a transcript, please sign your name on the clipboard in Student Services no later than Wednesday October 23rd, 2019. 

A reminder that picture retakes will take place  Nov 1st. Please sign up in the main office if you would like your picture redone OR if you did not get one at all.

Sports:
Each month one athlete is picked that has demonstrated outstanding athletic achievement! For the month of October, Noah Hallett has be chosen for going to the golf provincials to represent Auburn! Congrats Noah!

There will be a boys JV basketball team tryout this Thursday from 4-6.

Notes from the music room:

There will be a fall concert this Wednesday evening in the cafetorium for all those who are interested in an evening of music. Our musicians have been working hard to build a team, and we think we have it!  Concert starts at 6:30 pm and should be about 45 minutes long.  Hope to see you there!
