Guidance
A representative from the Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education will be at Auburn TOMORROW to speak to students about their program.  Please stop by the information booth if you have any questions!
Holland College is hosting a campus tour event on Friday November 8th from 1pm to 4pm.  Please visit the Holland College website for more information.


Mount Saint Vincent University is hosting a “STEM aware” session on Tuesday November 5th.  The session will allow youth to meet with Mount Saint Vincent BSc graduates currently working in STEM fields and learn about careers available to youth.  If interested in more information, please see the poster in Student Services or e-mail Sally at WISEatlantic@MSVU.ca.  The session will take place at Mount Saint Vincent


A representative from Student Assistance (Student Loan) NS will be coming to Auburn on Thursday November 14th at 11am to speak with students about student loans, including when and how to apply for them.  Lunch will be provided for this session.  If interested in attending this information session, please sign up in Student Services. 


The Comprehensive Guidance and Counselling Program will be taking 30 students to the IWK Health Care Career Day on Wednesday November 6th from 9:25am to 12:05pm.  If you are interested in attending this field trip, please sign up in Student Services and get a permission slip from your School Counsellor.  There is a limit of 30 students for this trip but we ask students on the waitlist to have the permission form signed so that they are ready to go if there is a student absent on the day of the trip.  The cost of the field trip is $5.00, and this is to help with the cost of bussing.


A reminder that picture retakes will take place Nov 1st. Your last chance to sign up will be until end of lunch today. Only those who have signed up will be called down.


Sports:
There will be a boys JV basketball team tryout TODAY from 4-6.

Co-ed soccer tournament next week at lunch, sign up in the gym on the Bristol-board. 5 people on each team and at least one boy and one girl on each team.


At 11:30 this morning, teachers please release members of the football team who are in grade 11 and 12 to an urgent meeting in room 219. Ms. Hudson sent out an email to this effect this morning with apologies for the late notice.

School:
Hopefully the boxes in D block classes are over filled with offerings for the food bank. We look forward to hearing who the winner is tomorrow!

And more congrats to our Student Salute staff member. Ms. Ferguson thanks so much for putting on such an amazing craft fair allowing so many students to fund raise for so many different goals and for an awesome concert last night. Thanks for your tireless efforts!
