Auburn Drive High

December 12th, 2019

Sports:
Boys Basketball are playing an early dismissal game on Friday and they want you to be a part of it. Tickets for the game will be on sale in the pit this week at lunch for $3. Hang on to your ticket- you must hand it in at the game to get your ACT for the block.

School:
Humans are taking on the Zombies in tonight’s hotly contested event HvZ. For only $6- 5 if you bring a food bank donation you can come at 6 and leave at 9 totally sweaty, exhausted, and worn out. There will be a canteen so you can consume things that are not meant for the human body so, of course, are perfect for us. See you there!

This week is our annual holiday gift drive on behalf of the Westphal Firefighters, we will be collecting new clothes and toys, non-perishable food bank donations and toiletries. We ask that you bring your donations to your A block class, if you are a teacher or a student with that off block there is a box in the office for you. The class that brings in the most items will get a Treatzza from dairy queen! We hope you will help us the best you can -there are some families in dire need.

Have you ever wondered what life in Ghana might be like? Auburn has a sister school in Ghana whom we are helping complete various improvements in their school.  They have asked for help building shelves a summer hut and purchasing A computer. Let that sink in. A computer. We are hosting an evening next week, Tuesday night from 6:30-8 pm, where we will show you snippets of life from our sister community in Ghana, we will have available to purchase some jewellery and calendars from their community. You don’t have to attend to support them…buy a ticket for $5. ALL of the proceeds will go directly back to the projects in Ghana. Tickets will be on sale at lunch tomorrow through Tuesday and will be available at the door as well.

You may or may not have heard, but Auburn is bringing back video announcements and restarting it's Auburn Air program. This is a very exciting opportunity for students to get involved in a livestreamed broadcast program. We are looking for a group of keen students who would like to help set up the system and be part of our team. If you would like to be behind the camera or in front of the camera, come down to Mr. Coombs's class, room 113, tomorrow at lunch. If you have questions about the group, come see Mr. Coombs or Mr. Wheatley at any time."

Yearbook will meet tomorrow at lunch

Eagle of the week this week is Selah Sparks for being so sweet and awesome and always willing to help out around the school.
Student Salute this week goes to Ms. Lohnes for helping out with grad photos all week and coming to Mascot Showdown. Thanks for your tireless efforts.
