Guidance:
The University of Toronto National Book Award recognizes and rewards the very best Canadian secondary school students, regardless of which university those students choose to attend. These are students who demonstrate superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context.  Each school is able to nominate 1 student. The deadline for applications is Oct 13th. For more information please see the bulletin board in Student Services


Kin Canada Bursaries are supported by Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin Clubs across Canada and is a program of the Hall Rogers Endowment Fund. Each year, $1,000 bursaries are awarded to successful Canadian applicants who are pursuing post-secondary education at a recognized university, community college, technical institute and other schools for advanced education.  Any students working hard to give back to their community and may need a little financial assistance to achieve their goals should apply!  For more information or to apply go to: kincanada.ca/apply


Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Medicine, is again hosting their Discovery Day in Health Sciences at Dalhousie University on Friday, November 13,2020. Students will  have the opportunity to virtually explore careers in medicine and health sciences via a keynote lecture, interactive workshops and discussion with a panel of experts from various related fields.  Interested grade  10 and 11 students should see Ms. Rose in Student Services as soon as possible if interested as spaces are limited.

 

Sports:
WRESTLING: If you have already played or are interested in a full contact sport like football or rugby, wrestling could be for you. TODAY There will be a meeting in room 225, the room next to the yoga room, at lunch for anyone interested in wrestling this year.


HOCKEY BOYS: The final team list for the Boys Hockey Team is posted outside the gym doors. Thank you to everyone who tried out. The decisions weren’t easy as we had so many great players try out this year. For those who made the team, we have practice this Friday at 4:00pm at the RBC Centre.


SOCCER BOYS:  Final score 5-1 against Halifax Grammar Goals from Tommy Mccormick, Garret Hines, Alex Bellfontaine, Andrew Paddock & Andrew Lydiard

RETAKES: Our picture retakes will take place on Tuesday, Oct 27th. Please sign up in the main office.

Please return any textbooks and Library books which were due in June 2020 to the library. ​Overdue messages will be emailed, posted by the Library and sent to all teachers Thursday. If you return them by Wednesday you will not be on the list. Thanks for your help getting Auburn books back to their home.


GREEN TEAM: Green team will be meeting in the library at lunch tomorrow.
