Volunteer at the North American Indigenous Games July 12-18, 2020

Halifax (Kjipuktuk) is thrilled to host the 2020 North American Indigenous Games, the largest multi-sport event ever held in the Maritimes. We are excited to provide the opportunity to share the Mi'kmaq culture with not only the city of Halifax, but with our delegations from across Canada and the US. The games take place July 12 – 18, 2020, and will include more than 5,000 Indigenous youth participants from over 756 nations in 16 sporting disciplines.

Volunteers play an integral role in the execution and success of the 2020 North American Indigenous Games. An event of this size and scope would not be possible without the support of 3,000+ volunteers (including 300+ French speaking) to support tasks ranging from transportation, accreditation, medical support, marketing and communications, event logistics, etc. The wide array of opportunities calls for a diverse volunteer team with varying interests, backgrounds, cultures, and expertise.

Presently we are recruiting leadership volunteers positions, as well as games times roles for each of our 22 venues throughout the HRM, Millbrook, and Aldershot. Each of our venues will have a team of volunteers that, with the support of staff, will help ensure a safe an enjoyable experience for all of our participants.

By providing a wide array of volunteer opportunities across all venues, NAIG 2020 will ensure the inclusion of a diverse population to promote further our mission of friends made, games played, culture shared and legacy lives.
