  • This Wednesday February 28th, Auburn is celebrating African Heritage month with a Pan African Spirit day. Grade 10s wear yellow, grade 11s wear red, grade 12s wear green, and staff wear black. To learn about the meaning behind each of these colours, go to the “boomer the eagle” Instagram account! We can’t wait to see everyone wearing these colours!
  • The Deadline for grade 11 students to apply for the Lieutenant Governor’s award is Friday.  Please submit a letter addressed to Ms. Hudson indicating why you would be a good fit for this award. To apply you need to have a 90% average. Please check online for additional requirements.
  • Yearbook Committee is asking all students to check their gnspes email for a link to a Google Form titled POPULAR TRENDS. This is your chance to vote on trends in our school and results will be printed in the Yearbook. The form will be opened for voting until March 8th.
  • A reminder that Yearbooks are on sale. You can purchase your book via school cash online or pay cash at the office. You only have 4 weeks left to make this purchase. No late orders will be accepted and no extra Yearbooks will be ordered.
  • Attention Grade 12 students! Don’t forget to pick up tickets to sell for the gift card basket. The more you sell the cheaper your prom tickets will be!
  • Don’t forget that Grad photo retakes are this week on Thursday and Friday. If you need retakes done, please book your appointment time on the school website.
  • Student Salute goes to Mr. Sadler for organizing Dinner Theatre and keeping arts at Auburn!
  • Eagle of the Week goes to Harry McHugh and Danica Carey for all of their help with cast and crew during the production for Dinner Theatre!

Athletics

  • If you are interested in trying out for badminton, the first tryout will be tomorrow from 8-10pm.

Student Services

  • A representative from the Army Reserves will be at Auburn Drive High School on Wednesday March 6th to give students information and answer questions about the Army Reserves.

African Heritage Month Trivia

  • Washington Black by Esi Edugyan is set to become a mini-series, and it will be filmed in which Nova Scotia town? Baddeck, Shelburne, Liverpool or Oxford?
  • Don’t forget to bring your answers to the office to be entered into a draw.
