Guidance:
Course change Appointments:  your course change appointments have been shifted to allow for the days we missed. We missed two days so everything is bumped by two days. Grade 11 appointments will take place Thurs and Fri and Grade 10 appointments will be on Monday and Tuesday. Your appointment times will be the same as they would have been originally. Grade 12’s were yesterday. If you missed your appointment please make an appointment as soon as possible.


Sports:
Anyone interested in trying out for the Auburn Boys Hockey Team is required to attend a meeting in the yoga room at lunch time on Monday, September 16. You can get more information about tryouts and sign up using the link found on Auburn Hockey's twitter feed or the Auburn Hockey web page."
Boys Soccer tryouts have changed to Friday Sept 13 from 5-6:30 at Wagner field behind Cole Harbour Place. The second boys soccer tryouts will be on Monday after school on the Auburn grass field from 4-6

Boys Volleyball tryouts  Thursday AND FRIDAY from 4-6.

Boys baseball tryouts will be Thursday at Woodside and next Monday at Conrad Field, both starting at 4pm.

Anyone interested in the Golf team, Boys and Girls, please see Mr. Bush before end of day Friday.


School:
Aubcon will be starting with a bang this year! Our first meeting will take place next week…Wednesday at lunch in room 103. We have dates for our first gaming night, our first HVZ, and a brand new event you don’t want to miss…come hear the great news.


Notes from the music room

The music program is back in action!
Calling all band students, past and present - if you played a band instrument in the last 3 years, you are welcome to join Concert Band + Jazz Band even if you are not in the music course! We have a great year of making music lined up and we are a more the merrier kind of people!  Please see the music room window for more information and please sign up there. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday.

Anyone interested in being part of the school's tech crew, which is working with sound + lights; or be the band manager or band librarian, no musical experience necessary,
applications for these leadership positions will open on Monday, due by Friday.

 

Do the big city lights + excitement of New York City call to you? Well, anyone in the school who is involved with the music program - either band, tech crew, band manager or band librarian, are eligible to travel with us to check out Broadway, participate in a workshop with Broadway professionals, see the New York Philharmonic, check out Times Square and Central Park, not to mention a tour of the 9/11 memorial.  There will be an information meeting Thursday September 19 at 6:30pm for those not yet registered. Anyone interested in fundraising, join us at 7pm.

Curriculum night is tonight  from 6:30-8pm. There will be a grade 12 parent meeting afterwards at 8pm in the cafeteria.


Community:
There is a pancake breakfast in support of the Black Brilliance conference happening on Saturday at the Panavista Sobeys. It is $5 for pancakes, sausages and a drink. Come visit them from 9am to 12 pm.
