Guidance:
Grade 11 students who have a study block during D block will input course selection on Thursday (tomorrow) during D block at 10:00 in computer lab 218.
University visits this week:  The Saint Mary‘s University pizza luncheon that was cancelled due to the snow storm in February is re-scheduled for Thursday March 5th.  If you have signed up already, you don’t need to sign up again.  If you would like to attend and haven’t signed up yet, please sign up in Student Services.


University Visits next week: A representative from the university of King’s College will be here on Tuesday March 10th during lunch to speak to students and answer questions about their programs.  The representative will have a table set up in the Pit.


Scholarship applications due this month: East Coast Credit Union- March 5; NSCC- Mar 20th; IODE bursary- Mar 30 and John Abass Sr. Memorial- Mar 31

Two CFUW Dartmouth Club Bursaries in the amount of $1000, one in memory of Margaret Ellen Verge and Miriam Englehart. Two bursaries will be awarded to female members of Dartmouth Graduation Classes of the year 2020 who are enrolling in university programs.  They will be awarded on the basis of 1. financial need, 2. sound academic standing and 3. community involvementRecipients of other major awards will not be considered. The application deadline is April 30, 2020.

In memory of Jordan Boyd, the Jordan Boyd Leadership Award & Scholarship was established through the Jordan Boyd Foundation.  The Jordan Boyd Leadership Award and Scholarship is a post-secondary entrance scholarship that recognizes individuals who have participated in the sport of hockey (Minor Hockey, high school, other) and who have demonstrated a passion for sportsmanship, learning, leadership and community. Scholarships this year have been set at $2,000 each.   Eligibility requirements and details on how to apply for a Jordan Boyd Leadership Award can be found at jordanboyd.ca/ Scholarship.  Applications will be received until April 24, 2020.

The Dartmouth Club of the Canadian Federation of University Women will be offering two $1000 bursaries.  They will be awarded to two female students chosen from the four local high schools in the Dartmouth area who will be attending a post-secondary institution in September 2020.  The application form can be found in Student Services; the application must be handed in to Student Services and the deadline is April 30, 2020.  Late applications and unsigned applications will not be considered.


Sports:
All first year Badminton players who have not given their shirt size must do so today at lunch. If not you will be given the size you get.


School:
Those who have signed up for the Girls’ Conference…please make sure to drop off permission forms to the main office by TODAY. And a reminder that you need to be at the school ready to leave Friday morning at 8:15. This is well before bus times so make sure you have a ride arranged today and don’t wait until Friday morning to spring it on your parents.
Our very welcome visitors from Chile will be heading home on Friday. Make sure you say good bye to them and thanks for the beautiful book they donated to our library that showcases their amazing country.

Hello eagles! The HRM wide dance happening at Dartmouth high school on April 2nd is fast approaching. In order to attend this dance you will need to pick up a contract outside of the council room. Tickets will be on sale at lunch in the pit. Tickets are 15$ each and you must bring the signed contract with you. We only have 40 tickets to start! So the first 40 people with their contract sign and 15$ are set!!

Yearbook team photos will take place on Tuesday, March 10. Listen for your team/s to be called down.


We are having a Cosplay and Anime event on Wednesday, March 11 from 4pm to 8pm. Just $5 gets you a snack and drinks and a whole lot of fun. We can sign in others from HRCE schools.

You DO NOT need to be First Nations. It is open to anyone and everyone. It is a very exciting opportunity to showcase our amazing city to the whole continent!
