On Tuesday, April 13, Premier Rankin and Dr. Strang announced that high schools would be closed a week early in June. The official tweet on the HRCE homepage is:

Today, we announced that secondary schools will end* a week early this year. This means final exams will now begin the week of June 14, not June 21 as originally planned. The last day of school* for secondary students will be June 11.

We are awaiting details from Head Office on parameters for conducting graduating ceremonies . We will be in touch with graduating families as soon as we have more information.

All students should watch and listen for exam details in the coming weeks.

*UPDATE* in answer to FAQ: 'end'  and 'last day of school' should be interpreted as the last day of classes for students. Students who are writing final exams are expected during their exam times the following week. Report card pick up remains (until further notice) on the official last day of school, June 30.
