Guidance:
The deadline for students to apply for a Dalhousie entrance award is quickly approaching. Students must submit their application for admission, their entrance award application and any supporting documents before March 1 to be considered.


A representative from Memorial University of Newfoundland will be here on Tuesday February 25th at 9:30am to discuss their institution, programs and answer any questions students may have.  If interested in attending, please sign up in Student Services.


On Tuesday February 18, 2020, the University of Ottawa invites you to information evening in Halifax, to meet with uOttawa representative, Doris Ng Ingham. A representative from Mount Saint Vincent University will be coming to Auburn on Monday February 24th at 12:05pm to speak with students about their institution, programs and admissions.  They are offering FREE on-the-spot admissions to students interested in applying.  If you would like to attend, please sign up in Student Services and if you would like to apply, you must bring a transcript to the information session.  To order a transcript, please sign your name on the clipboard in Student Services no later than Wednesday February 19th, 2020. 

The Harrison McCain Scholarships/Bursaries are available annually to entering students attending University who have graduated from a high school in Canada. Each award has a program value of $16,000 payable over a four year course of study in the amount of $4,000 per year. Criteria for the awards include a minimum 80% average in senior year of high school, financial need, leadership qualities, and a recognized initiative in funding your own education. The number of scholarships/bursaries available may vary from year to year. Renewal criteria to be met each year.  Deadline for receipt of the completed application is MARCH 1.  Please check with the university you plan to attend for the application.

Sports:
Tonight is the very last chance to see the Auburn Boys Hockey team play on their home ice. Playoffs begin tonight when the Eagles take on Dartmouth High in game 1 of a best of 3 series. Game starts at 6:30pm at Scotia 1. We need everyone to pack the house tonight and show Dartmouth High who has the most school spirit. The Boys Hockey team finished in 2nd place in the league this year with a record of 20 wins and only 3 loses."


The last tryout for Badminton is this Thursday from 8 to 10 at night. If you want a chance at the team you need to come Thursday.

School:
Hey Eagles! Get excited because on February 26th in the caf from 6:30 - 9pm there's going to be a neon themed dance! Tickets will be for sale all next week and they're $6 with food item and $7 without and you will be able to sign in a guest! All proceeds will go to the IWK and the food donations will go to our local food bank.

Fun, fun, FUN!!
It's that time of year again! Auburn's annual musical. This year's show is called I Think I Want to Marry You, and it is a musical comedy sure to get your toes tapping and your laughter happening. For the low, low price of only $5, (That's right, $5) you can purchase a ticket and experience the fun next Thursday morning, February 20th, during C & D block in the cafeteria. This counts as a school activity and doesn't affect exemptions. Tomorrow is the last day to get your ticket!

Students remember that yearbooks are on sale but the deadline is approaching. February 28th is the last day. When we place the order it is too late. Last year we had disappointed people who didn’t get theirs. Don’t be them. $60 on line via our website or cash in the main office.

Breakfast program: we would love to have it back. Please sign up in the main office to help. Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings. We have had a volunteer come forward from PA…surely we can take care of our own. Please sign up.

JMS Driving has a drivers course running from March 19-22. Eagles get special discount!


At Lunch today: SNOWBOARD TEAM: There will be a quick meeting in 224 to talk about the races for this year.  If you cannot make it please see Mr Ray today…a reminder to Aubcon members to bring your money for your shirts to order at tomorrow’s meeting. This year’s edition is AMAZING! You are not gonna want to miss out.
