School

  • Yearbooks are now on sale via School Cash Online!  Yearbooks are $55 until December 20th. The cost will increase to $60 in January and the deadline to order is March 22nd. No late payments will be accepted.
  • Calling all artists and or book lovers. It's time for the annual Pumpkin Literary decorating contest. Turn your pumpkin or gourd into your favorite fictional character. Contest closes October 30. See Ms Chambers, in the library, for more details.
  • Student Salute goes to Mme Pluta for always doing so much for the yearbook and for her students every year.
  • Eagle of the Week goes to Heidi Rowe for putting up the birthday board even though she’s not on council!
  • Student ID’s are in and will be distributed by A block teachers.  Those students who are on a free during A block can pick their ID up in the main office.
  • There will be Imhotep today after school.
  • Peer tutoring will take place at lunch in room 221.

Community

  • This week there will be a food drive to support our Cole Harbour community fridge that opens on October 21, this food drive will be going from the 10th of October to the 20th. Anything helps and we appreciate your donations!!!
  • Learn to make Candy Apples at Teen Night at Cole Harbour Public Library this evening. It runs from 6-7:30 and it is open to all junior high and high school students. It is totally free and you get to make your own candy apple.
  • The Royal Canadian Legion is inviting students to honour Canada’s Veterans by participating in the National Youth Remembrance Poster and Literary Contest. The contests include multiple levels of competition competing first at the Legion Branch local level, with winning entries moving forward until they reach the provincial level. Provincial finalists of all contests then move forward for final judging by the Legion National Foundation to determine the national winners. All winners at the national level are awarded a cash prize for their work. First Place Senior Winners are eligible for a trip to Ottawa and an opportunity to represent the youth of Canada at the National Remembrance Day Ceremony.
