  • October is Mi'kmaq history month. The purpose of recognizing this month is to help us increase our knowledge and awareness of Mi'kmaq history. During this month let’s take time to reflect, participate, share and learn about the rich Mi'kmaq culture and heritage.
  • Did you know that today, October 4th is the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Indigenous women are four times more likely than non-Indigenous women to be victims of violence. Indigenous women make up 16% of all female homicide victims and 11% of missing women, yet Indigenous people make up only 4.3% of the population of Canada. Please research what you can do to support and raise awareness for the MMIWG crisis.
