  • Did you know? The first recording of Mi’kmaq playing a stick and puck game, on ice, with bone made skates was in 1749. With a similar game played on the field during warmer months. This game was played by the Mi'kmaq before the first settler recording in 1749. Not only were Mi’kmaq good at the sport, they became one of the main suppliers of hockey sticks across North America.
  • Yearbooks are on sale via School Cash Online!  The cost is $55 until December 20th and will increase to $60 in January. The deadline to order is March 22nd. No late payments will be accepted.
  • Are you looking for a rewarding social opportunity? Best Buddies is a program that aims to create a diverse student group for monthly social events, and create opportunities for students to form new friendships. If you are interested in becoming a Best Buddy, please join Mrs. Johnston and Nalani Phillips on Tuesday October 17th at 12:15 in the Learning Centre to learn more about Best Buddies at Auburn. 
  • Picture Retakes will be on November 3.
  • Grad Photos will take place from December 5 -15, a booking link will be posted on the website soon.

Athletics

  • Congratulations to the cross country team on their performance at regionals yesterday at Point Pleasant Park! Qualifying for provincials in Cape Breton were Alena Collens, Robert Meuse and Claira Kilpatrick. The intermediate boys team also qualified. All team members who qualified please see Miss. Priest at the beginning of lunch in room 224 to work out provincial details.


Community

  • Cole Harbour is opening a Community Fridge on Oct 21/23; behind the Cole Harbour Woodside United Church, at 15 Bissett Road.  Auburn is collecting dry goods donations between Oct 10 and 20th  for the grand opening. Donations can be left at the main office or in the Schools Plus room (Room 105).  Let's show our community how Auburn Eagles give back!
