• Did you know? The Mi'kmaq, Maliseet, and Pasamaquoddy nations signed a series of treaties known as the Covenant Chain of Peace and Friendship Treaties with the British Crown throughout the eighteenth century; the first was signed in 1725, and the last in 1779. The Miꞌkmaq maintain that they did not cede or give up their land title or other rights through these Peace and Friendship Treaties. The landmark 1999 Supreme Court of Canada decision in R v Marshall upheld the 1752 Peace and Friendship Treaty "which promised Indigenous Peoples the right to hunt and fish their lands and establish trade.

• There will be a Bake Sale today at lunch.

• Chess club is canceled today. It will instead happen at lunch tomorrow in room 305.

• Duke of Edinburgh participants: All money must be in by today. Please see Ms Chambers, if you have any questions. There will be a meeting in the library at lunch.

• The Auburn High School Greece trip is hosting a Halloween movie night this Thursday from 6:30-9pm. Tickets are $5, including popcorn. They will be showing 2 movies. Scream will be playing in the cafeteria for teens, and Hotel Transylvania will be playing in the library for younger children. There will be candy bags, chips and pop for sale as well. Tickets will be on sale today and tomorrow at lunch, or you can see Ms. Donahoe to buy tickets as well. Some tickets will be for sale at the door. Come out for a fun night and support the school Greece trip!

• Yearbooks are now on sale! To purchase your book, go to the Auburn Webpage and click on School Cash Online. Once on the page, select Yearbook. Yearbooks are $55 until December 20th. The cost will increase to $60 from January to March 22nd. No late payments will be accepted.

Sports

• The Boys JV Basketball will be having open Tryouts on Tuesday, October 31st from 8 to 10 PM & Thursday, November 2nd from 8 to 10 PM.Please come ready to play with appropriate GYM wear.  All are welcome.

Cafeteria

• Lunch today in the cafeteria will be Chicken Stir-Fry.
